Detroit Business Consulting Travels to Toronto to Train

Detroit Business Consulting will be sending two charity Account Managers to Toronto, Canada today to help train a charity office there.  This is one of the benefits of working with a company that can do work on an international level – we get to travel!

Working on our Children International campaign, Abby and Caitlin are examples of excellent leaders in our office.  They both specialize in the nonprofit division and have had the opportunity to travel to Philadelphia last year for our national conference, New York City for nonprofit work and to Ohio for training.  This business trip to Toronto will test their training ability and give them the opportunity to experience the culture in Canada.  Next month, both of these individuals will be attending our 2014 national conference in Philadelphia.

Abby joined our team when we had just launched our nonprofit division last year and Caitlin has been working with us as an intern while finishing school at Central Michigan.  After graduating this past weekend, we couldn’t be more excited to officially welcome her to the team full time! After proving her training and fundraising ability, Caitlin proved to be a valuable asset to our team with her passion for helping children and making a difference on the campaign.  Since we put a strong emphasis on growth at Detroit Business Consulting, traveling and networking are a focal point of our development.  Have a great time in Toronto, ladies!

Detroit Business Consulting Fundraises in Malls

Detroit Business Consulting has expanded our nonprofit division to get even more creative with our fundraising initiatives.  This week we started doing mall events, where we are set up at a kiosk at the mall and are talking with individuals on behalf of Children International and gaining their sponsorship.  When we gain someone as a sponsor, we are actually lining up a specific donor with a specific child.  Children International helps about 340,000 children in 11 different countries, and Detroit Business Consulting is proud to be part of that sponsorship.

One of our charity team members, Nicole Lysak, has been helping to test-pilot and launch this new version of the campaign.  “You have to constantly be innovative with your marketing strategies and this is the next step for us.  We know the difference we make for these children on a daily basis, so we enjoy finding new ways to gain sponsors and get the word out about this amazing organization,” Nicole explained.

If you see us in one of the malls, stop by to learn more about Children International and the difference you could make by sponsoring a child.

Detroit Business Consulting Hosts Midwest Conference in Troy

Detroit Business Consulting attends a quarterly conference that focuses on the growth and development of the employees at the company.  It provides everyone at the company the opportunity to network with other successful individuals in the sales and marketing and nonprofit world, as well as learn valuable skills from their business experiences.  Speakers at the conference included entrepreneurs from France, Chicago, Macedonia, Washington, D.C. and our own firm here in Troy,

At the conference, two individuals were recognized from Detroit Business Consulting for their leadership skills and growth within the business.  Andrew Tehranisa was recognized from the sales and marketing division for his work with Comcast Business Class and the strong leadership example he shows in the office.  The award recognizes the success he has had since joining our company, as well as the advancement opportunities our CEO sees with Andrew in the future.  Andrew graduated from the University of Michigan with an engineering degree and has been a valuable member of our team since joining DBC.

In addition to our sales and marketing division, Detroit Business Consulting expanded with a nonprofit division in April of 2013, partnering up with Children International to help increase their fundraising initiatives.  Abby Hill was recognized from our charity division for her achievements with the company.  Abby joined our nonprofit team after moving to Michigan from North Carolina.  Her leadership and sociology background attributed to her ability to work with a multitude of personalities when working with different donors.  Her passion for working with children stems from her past experience working as a toddler teacher, and that has translated well to her work with Children International.  We are excited to see what’s next for Abby with our company!
