Staying Positive!

It’s so important to have a positive attitude both inside and outside the office. Most people enjoy being around others who are happy and positive and enjoy what they are doing. Ken Harness came up with seven ways to keep a positive attitude. He explains that when people are positive, they get what they want out of life. Here are his seven tips:

  1. Take passionate action towards living your life. You never want to view a day as “making it through the day”. Each day should be an adventure and it should be exciting. Even if you know you will be faced with challenges, you can face those challenges head on with a positive attitude and determination.
  2. Act instead of reacting. It is easier to be proactive rather than reactive, and it will make your life much easier if you seize each day and use it to be productive and positive.
  3. Believe that each moment is perfect regardless of its outcome. Bad things are going to happen. Once you accept that, you can learn to deal with each negative situation. Good can come from everything. Even if that good is not made evident, you must focus on the fact that good can come somehow and you will be stronger for learning to remain positive during negative situations.
  4. Learn to always be grateful for what you have. People who are not grateful always seem to want more. You can have goals and aspirations to have more, but it is important to learn to be grateful for what you have so that you are satisfied at some point.
  5. Seize every opportunity that you can instead of regretting it later. You must find a balance between taking a risk on an opportunity and being smart about not taking dangerous risks. Use smart judgment, but be open to trying new things.
  6. Always keep your sense of humor. Being positive involves finding the humor in situations that may be awkward or frustrating. Humor is attractive to others and life is more enjoyable if you can laugh at yourself and others.
  7. Believe that you are in charge of your destiny. This can be a difficult concept to grasp because the world always tells us that we have no control over what happens to us. When you accept that life is not something that is simply going on around you, you begin to see that you can create it to be what you want to make of it.

These tips can be helpful to keep each day in perspective. Being positive is crucial for happiness and success. Keep these in mind next time you are faced with a negative situation or a tough day.
